Emi Martinez makes lewd gesture after winning Golden Glove award following Argentina’s World Cup triumph

The Aston Villa goalkeeper had already written his name into Argentine folklore by saving two penalties in a shootout against the Netherlands in the quarter-final phase and once again stepped up.

After breathless 3-3 drawthe final went to the lottery of a shootout, with Martinez saving from Kingsley Coman as Argentina claimed his third world title.

Prior to the lifting of the trophy, Martínez won the Golden Gloves award, a trophy given to the goalkeeper with the most clean sheets. While Jordan Pickford and Moroccan Bono also finished with three, the FIFA Technical Study Group awarded it to Martínez.

After collecting his award, Martinez held the trophy, a giant gold-plated hand, to his groin and waved it as he walked to join his teammates.
