John Terry sends message to Sergio Aguero as retired striker joins Argentina’s World Cup final celebrations

Agüero was forced to withdraw last year due to a heart condition, but remained a prominent figure in camp throughout the tournament in Qatar.

Part of the Argentine team that won the Copa América in 2021, the former Manchester City striker had put an end to his brilliant career shortly after moving to Barcelona.

The 34-year-old was a longtime roommate of Lionel Messi and joined his compatriots on the pitch inside the Lusail Stadium, recalling Terry’s actions when Chelsea won the Champions League in 2012.

Despite being suspended for the final, the blues legend donned his full kit after his famous victory over Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena to capture Europe’s top trophy for the first time.

Terry took to Twitter to advise Agüero: “If you’re going to do it, at least do it and put on your shin guards and boots.” .
