ottham failed to produce another stirring comeback despite a much-improved second-half performance as Mohammed SalahThe two goals of the first part assured LiverpoolThe first away win of the season.

Salah took advantage of the statuesque defense after 11 minutes to turn into the box and shoot at Hugo Lloris, before Eric Dier missed a header clearance towards his goalkeeper to allow the striker to clear and score in a second.

The hosts had their moments with Ivan Perisic hitting the woodwork in each half and could have gotten a penalty when Trent Alexander-Arnold brought down Ryan Sessegnon.

After the break, Spurs raised their game, buoyed by Dejan Kulusevski returning from injury off the bench. He made an almost instant impact when he fed Harry Kane, who scored in the 70th.

But Liverpool weathered the storm to claim victory and end a two-game losing streak in the Premier League, leaving them eighth on 19 points after 13 games. The Spurs fell to fourth place on 26 of 14.
